Email Support Configure Outlook 97 Mail for Windows

Step 1 of 6
  • Open Outlook 97.
  • Click on the Tools menu option located at the top of the window.
  • Select Services from the drop down menu.
  • The following window will open, click on the Services tab located at the top of the window.
  • Click on the Add button.

 

Step 2 of 6

  • Click on Internet E-mail so it highlighted.
  • Click the OK button.

 

Step 3 of 6

  • Click the General tab located at the top of the window.
  • In the first box in this window enter Aussiecom Internet Consulting Email.
  • In the Name box enter your real name. You can use upper and lower case letters in this box.
  • In the E-mail address box enter your e-mail address.
  • Click on the Servers tab located at the top of the window.

 

Step 4 of 6

  • In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box enter your ISP's Outgoing Mail server details e.g. smtp.idx.com.au, in lower case letters.
  • In the Incoming Mail (POP3) box enter your mail server as noted on the Email Set Up document we've sent you.
    Note - this is usually in the form of 'mail.yourdomainname.com.au', where 'yourdomainname.com.au' is the domain name you've set up with Aussiecom.
  • Place a dot next to Logon using.
  • In the Account Name box enter your username in lower case letters.
    Note - your Account name is your full email address, all in lowercase and no spaces.
  • In the Password box enter your password in lower case letters.
  • Click the Connection tab located at the top of the window.

 

Step 5 of 6

  • Place a dot next to I use a modem to access my e-mail.
  • In the box titled Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection select the name of the dialer that you use to connect to Aussiecom.
  • Click the Apply button at the bottom of the window.
  • Click the OK button.

 

Step 6 of 6

  • Click the OK button to save the settings for your e-mail account.
