Configure
Outlook 97 Mail for Windows
- Open
Outlook 97.
- Click
on the Tools menu option located at the
top of the window.
- Select
Services from the drop down menu.
- The
following window will open, click on the Services
tab located at the top of the window.
- Click
on the Add button.

- Click
on Internet E-mail so it highlighted.
- Click
the OK button.

- Click
the General tab located at the top of
the window.
- In
the first box in this window enter Aussiecom Internet
Consulting Email.
- In
the Name box enter your real name. You
can use upper and lower case letters in this box.
- In
the E-mail address box enter your e-mail
address.
- Click
on the Servers tab located at the top
of the window.

- In
the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box enter your
ISP's Outgoing Mail server details e.g. smtp.idx.com.au,
in lower case letters.
- In
the Incoming Mail (POP3) box enter your
mail server as noted on the Email Set Up document we've
sent you.
Note - this is usually in
the form of 'mail.yourdomainname.com.au', where 'yourdomainname.com.au'
is the domain name you've set up with Aussiecom.
- Place
a dot next to Logon using.
- In
the Account Name box enter your username
in lower case letters.
Note - your Account name
is your full email address, all in lowercase and no spaces.
- In
the Password box enter your password
in lower case letters.
- Click
the Connection tab located at the top
of the window.

- Place
a dot next to I use a modem to access my e-mail.
- In
the box titled Use the following Dial-Up Networking
connection select the name of the dialer that
you use to connect to Aussiecom.
- Click
the Apply button at the bottom of the
window.
- Click
the OK button.

- Click
the OK button to save the settings for
your e-mail account.
