Email Support Configure Outlook 2000 Mail for Windows

Step 1 of 8
  • Open Outlook 2000.
  • Click on the Tools menu located at the top of the window.
  • Click on Accounts from the drop down menu.

  • Click the Mail tab located at the top of the window.
  • Click the Add button and then select Mail.

 

Step 3 of 8

  • Enter your name in the Display name field.
  • Click the Next button.

 

Step 4 of 8

  • Enter your full e-mail address.
  • Make sure there are no capitals or spaces in your e-mail address.
  • Click the Next button.

 

Step 5 of 8

  • Select POP 3 from the drop down menu.
  • In the box titled Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server enter your mail server as noted on the Email Set Up document we've sent you.
    Note - this is usually in the form of 'mail.yourdomainname.com.au', where 'yourdomainname.com.au' is the domain name you've set up with Aussiecom.
  • In the box titled Outgoing mail (SMTP) server enter your ISP's Outgoing Mail server details (e.g. smtp.idx.com.au) in lower case letters.
  • Click the Next button.

 

Step 6 of 8
  • Type your username in the Account name field in lower case letters.
    Note - your Account name is your full email address, all in lowercase and no spaces.
  • Type your password in the Password field.
  • Place a tick next to Remember password.
  • Click the Next button.

 

Step 7 of 8

  • Click the Finish button.

 

Step 8 of 8

  • You have successfully created your e-mail account and dial up connection.
  • Click the Close button.
